Artist's Statement/Explanations:

The work is inspired by the elements within the nautical and marine environment.  The fluid movement and elements of the sea are inspirational for my process with the clay.  The medium of clay is immediate and truly reflective of any interaction it has within its environment.  This allows the translation of the process to remain true in every aspect.  It is also a process of patience as well as trial and error.  Multiple stages are required before a piece is complete and the drying stages are crucial.  Clay is naturally made from earth's own processes and transcends as a connection with us when made into works of art.  Each piece is truly unique and no molds are used in my  process.  This includes the stamps I use in which my "Fish Bones" stamp has become my trademark.  All pieces are hand signed and dated.  The handles that are on the mugs are completely original and sets my mugs apart from any other.  I guarantee the balance, feel, and overall comfort will make my mug your favorite.  This is especially recommended for any who may have arthritis.   Wine chillers closely resemble the style of my mugs and have many of the same traits.  My sculptural reliefs are completely handmade as well and do not include any marks of manufactured work.  These can be installed either interior or exterior.  Interior ideas include a kitchen backsplash, walk-in shower center piece, and fireplace mantels.  Custom address plates for your home also have endless possibilities.  Forget the slate painting that has your last name on it.  Your name could be sculpted in three dimensional form.  All of this starts with a chunk of Columbus clay from the Columbus Clay Company in Central Ohio.  Please see my Contact Page for my email address.  I will be glad to take your order.
